人は、自らの意思で生まれてくることはできません。

誰かの選択と祈りのなかで、

「生むこと」を“されて”この世に現れます。

けれど、どこかの段階で、

私たちは自らの生に責任を持ち、

その苦しみも絶望も含めて、もう一度「生まれなおす」ことが求められるのだと思います。

今度こそ、よりよい自分に。

もう一度、祝福されながら。

私の作品は、そうした願いを

日本の昔話、神道や仏教の説話、民俗的な風俗のなかに託しながら描く試みです。

ペンで静かに線を重ねることは、私にとって写経にも似て、黒と白のあわいにひとつの祈りのかたちを刻むような行為です。

We do not come into this world by our own will.

We are brought into life through the choices and prayers of others—

born, rather than choosing to be born.

And yet, at some point in our lives,

we are called to take responsibility for our own existence.

To face not only joy, but also pain and despair—

and still, to choose rebirth.

This time, into a better version of ourselves.

This time, into a life blessed once more.

My work is an exploration of this quiet, universal longing for rebirth.

Through Japanese folktales, Shinto and Buddhist teachings,

and the traditions of folk culture,

I seek to give shape to that hope.

Drawing line by line with my pen becomes, for me,

an act akin to shakyō—the devotional copying of sutras.

Within the shifting space between black and white,

I carve out a form of prayer.
